I have reaped the benefits though not nearly at the level of some of the wealthiest but far more than the least wealthy. In all cases my property is my own and it is not open, morally, to the looting of those that have not or those with government friends.
My wealth, as it is, is the result of hard work and smart investment. I have not bribed or stolen to get it. I am charitable within my means and have not taken a dollar. I have received my due by my own labor and I intend to continue to do so. All the while thieves at the top and bottom have nibbled at what I have saved through their monetary tricks and their "social justice rights."

It wasn't luck. It was hard work. There was no silver spoon here.

This from someone whose profession is psychology. As Administrator / moderator I considered whether or not this remark constitutes an ad hominem argument: I decided that, as Bro. Brandt had mentioned himself as an example, it then became fair game for others to follow-up on that example. I would however ask that further discussion be civil.

Smithee, since you brought it up. I have been working since I was a child. As a brick mason, driving and "idiot stick," logistics and project management. Spent time in the USAF and have served as a corrections officer. So yes, hard work.
If you have a problem with my current profession or intend to use that is so way to denigrate me that is fine.

I have had many opportunities. The opportunities did not make me. I took advantage of the opportunities through work and effort. It wasn't given to me. I have never taken a dime that was not mine by right.

Sorry I was a bit off beam there. When I called you a Psychologist I meant you should know what made people tick. What motivates them, how some people get waylaid and so on. I hear the profession is meant to be non-judgmental. Had you been a Sociologist I would have expected you to have some understanding of the forces which push people in different directions.

The idea that 51% can vote the destruction of the rights of 49% is contrary to my belief in personal liberty. Is your belief relevant? Democracy may mean something more than a theoretically absolute popular government, but it assuredly cannot mean anything less Herbert Croly(Born this day 1869)
