Are these some of the folks that are regularly referred to as "self hating Jews?"

Are all Jews expected to approve the actions of all other Jews?

Actually I was being sarcastic and casting aspersions on the push that all Jews must be Zionists.

With the benefit of hindsight and in the Biblical context, the choice of Israel as a Jewish homeland now seems inevitable. However, during and after WWII other sites around the world were seriously considered. A couple were in Australia: The Kimberley region in Western Australia was vetoed by Canberra. Another site was the south-west coast of Tasmania, it had popular support and in principle government approval but lost favour after the main advocate, Critchley Parker, died while surveying the wilderness area.

If all ethnically, and linguistically distinct peoples should have a homeland then many western nations are in for some problems.

The question here needs to be understood in the context of the Holocaust.

It does indeed, we can't forget that nor the events that led to it. I would hope that thinking men like you and I would at least pay attention. I trust that you would alert me if I were not paying attention. Israel does exist. As independent people that have a right to self-defense. What obligation does any other nation, people, or persons have to them beyond that acknowledgement? None I would think.
It is an interesting question of moral philosophy though because of its ramifications on the question of the Aborginal populations of Australia, United States, and Japan. All were not treated as they should have been but luckily we are in a position to correct those historic injustices. In the mean time we cannot ignore that there are semitic/arabic people in Israel that are not Jews but Muslim that should be respected as people as well.
I am still out on the question of Gaza and the West Bank. I am still learning and thinking on the subject. Anything to add there to help me on my way?

What is ironic is that … equating Zionism with Jewishness, … is adopting the very tactic favoured by anti-semites
