They train in order to do it well. Then we have to untrain them to fit back into society. We do have to address the issue. Here in the United States we are seeing problems with troops returning from Iraq and Afghanistan that are experiencing problems with reintegrating. PTSD and TBI are cited as two of the biggest contributors to the problem. In some states there are "veterans' courts" that are supposedly better structured to deal with the troops and many use diversion to treatment programs to avoid an escalation of criminal or antisocial acts. It is not yet known how successful these courts will be, it is also not known if there actually is a bias for or against veterans with PTSD.

There are only homo- or heterosexual acts. Most people are a mixture of impulses if not practices [/i] Gore Vidal[/quote] And Gore Vidal is some sort of authority?

"To hear two American men congratulating each other on being heterosexual is one of the most chilling experiences - and unique to the United States. You don't hear two Italians sitting around complimenting each other because they actually like to go to bed with women. The American is hysterical about his manhood." - Gore Vidal.

"Trust a nitwit society like this one to think that there are only two categories - fag and straight." - Gore Vidal.

And Gore Vidal is some sort of authority? Are you? I never made such a claim, did I?

You must realize, surely, that those who engage in deviant sexual behavior always attempt to rationalize said behavior by claiming it as the norm?

Gore Vidal And Gore Vidal is some sort of authority? The quote was not intended as an argument from authority (generally considered to be a fallacy). The attribution was given because it would have been improper not to. Beyond Vidal is the truth or otherwise of what he had to say.

This same gender-fingerprinting put to rest the perfect monogamies that were supposed in many species. It turns out that it isn't only humans that are horny and adulterous. Even ducks of all things. What I did find interesting in the studies, none of which I have been involved in, is that it appears that the females trade up while the males go where they can.
I suspect that the sneaky f***ers would attempt to dominate the scene and would cease being so sensitive would shift to a more aggressive stance to protect their status from young bucks coming up. Just a hypothesis that I think might be tractable.
