I find it interesting that this man was nominated not two weeks after taking office. Not for any accomplishment, but for his "vision." It's all image and no substance. Nothing has changed, really, except the US national debt has tripled, the Dollar has lost 11% of it's value and employment has gone into double digits.
They gave the prize to Yasser Arafat and Al Gore, too...

Obama may have been nominated early on but the award was decided more recently, perhaps for his efforts, despite being blocked. As for his handling of the economy, I'm reminded of a cartoon about Opposition criticism of the way our Prime Minister has handled the crash. It read, in effect: "You may have steered us around that iceberg, but these deckchairs are all over the place."
