I didn't know that the Victorian Lodge of Research had a correspondence circle. Neither did I realize that Bro JMD was the WM. I wish I had more time to follow up leads and links.
In another thread you were kind enough to quote from and link to the Skirret site. One day I plan to open up a 'Research' section that would direct visitors to the QCCC and similar correspondence circles, and maybe encourage people to post original papers.

He was kind enough to invite me to speak there next month and I was presumptuous enough to accept. Wish I could be there. Please give him my best regards. Thank you! I'm still waiting to see which way the wind blows it. I ran out of puff while reformatting the 'Travelling Library', a huge collection of Masonic papers that grew over the years as it was passed from website to website. Before it ended up on The Skirret, it was hosted on the website of a US GL, placed there by the webmaster of that site. Sadly that webmaster was hounded out of his jurisdiction by a GM who thought that Wicca = Satanism. The webmaster then took the library over to his own independent website, where he reformatted the text files to simple HTML by, I think, running a converter on them and then embedding them in a PHP portal. When he decided to close down the Masonic sections of his personal website, he invited visitors to d/l as much as they wanted before he trashed everything. I asked him if I could slurp the whole library and he said, "Be my quest." I did just that, stripped the code of PHP and CSS tags, then began to reformat everything for the Skirret system. That's when I began to have second thoughts. Some of the papers are semi-literate and next to worthless, others (especially issues of Masonic journals) are posted elsewhere. Sorting the wheat from the chaff is proving difficult. The section of The Skirret devoted to Kobe Masonry is almost dormant. It's little more than a placeholder I created, for the Brethren to expand at will. The few who have expressed an interest have backed off, for various reasons. What's not obvious is that The Skirret contains a fully featured Bulletin Board system, activated but unused. I'm still not sure what to do with it.

For what it's worth, for nearly a year now I have been trying to load this forum with topics intended to be of enough interest to some, so as to stimulate on-going discussion. Perhaps this is being held back in part by the selective membership policy, but I live in hope. If you want to try a similar tack, you are welcome to use material from here to see where it leads on your Bulletin Board.

Perhaps this is being held back in part by the selective membership policy, but I live in hope. There are so many Masonic boards around that I've lost track of which is which: which boards I have accounts with, which I've unsubscribed from, and which I've passed by. Yours has a strong identity, which most do not. Short of sending out invitation to all the people you'd like to subscribe, I can't see what more you could do -- except hang in there and hope. Many thanks, but before I start seeding the Bulletin Board (which will probably end up divided into private sections for members of four or give lodges and chapters), I'd like to add some of your papers to the library section. I won't be able to do this any time soon, but sooner or later I'll PM you with specific requests.

My apologies if my online schedule is a bit haphazard for the next few days. I will be visiting Melbourne, having been honoured to be invited to speak at the Research Lodge:

Thanks Bro. Bryan
Much has changed over the last quarter of a century, especially within circles of masonic research, and, whereas I once faced some bitter opposition to my ideas (always countered by the support of others), tonight I expect to be preaching to the converted.
Certainly that was the spirit in which Bro. JMD, extended the invitation to speak. Sometimes the tide turns and the time becomes right. Changes have been gradual, with some setbacks, but, over the last couple of weeks, I have heard of significant developments which may soon enable me to rejoin in good conscience.
Sadly, I heard last night that the final meeting of my mother lodge, Lodge Thistle Kilwinning (#54 NSW & ACT) was held on Wednesday night, so I will not be able to return there.
I'll be off to the airport shortly.

My sincere thank to the the Brethren of 218 for the warmth of their reception to my Brother Ian and I and for their interest in the topic. I'll have more to say on my return.
