The last thing a deep sea fish will ever discover is water.Anon. A deep-sea fish has probably no means of apprehending the existence of water, it is too uniformly immersed in itBro. Sir Oliver Joseph Lodge, FRS(b.12/06/1851 — d.22/08/1940)

The Price of Liberty
It is the common fate of the indolent to see their rights become a prey to the active. The condition upon which God hath given liberty to man is eternal vigilance.
John Philpot Curran
Those who profess to favor freedom and yet deprecate agitation, are people who want crops without plowing the ground.
Frederick Douglass
We must complain. Yes, plain, blunt complaint, ceaseless agitation, unfailing exposure of dishonesty and wrong - this is the ancient, unerring way to liberty and we must follow it.
W. E. B. Dubois
When you think of the long and gloomy history of man, you will find more hideous crimes have been committed in the name of obedience than have ever been committed in the name of rebellion.
C. P. Snow Unthinking respect for authority is the greatest enemy of truth.
Albert Einstein
Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring, those ripples build a current which can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance.
Robert F. Kennedy
I don't give 'em hell. I just tell the truth, and they think it's hell.
Harry Truman

Quote for the Day:No man is an Island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the Continent, a part of the main; if a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as well as if a manor of thy friends or of thine own were; any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in Mankind; And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; It tolls for thee.John Donne, (1572 - 1631) Lord Howe Island

Within Freemasonry there is a tendency to embellish and add to the simplicity of masonic teachings, ascribing significance where none was intended; mistaking visual mnemonics or artistic licence for symbolic depth. Those outside Freemasonry fall into similar error with the added intent of deprecating that which they do not understand.Grand Lodge of British Columbia & Yukon

I dreamt last night that Shakespeare's Ghost Sat for a civil service post. The English paper for that year Had several questions on King Lear Which Shakespeare answered very badly Because he hadn't read his Bradley.
Punch, 1926 A.C. Bradley was a highly regarded Shakespearean scholar who may have read more into Shakespeare's work than the bard ever intended. (Freemasonry oft times appears rife with Bradleys) Then again:It is a poor symbol which means only one thing.
