The author is not a Freemason and it shows. While some irrelevancies and his acceptance of Taxil's hoax and of some more imaginative and long discredited masonic authors may grate on some, I urge readers to persist. William Bond demonstrates flashes of brilliance and general insights which, despite my access to masonic libraries and scholars, took me over a quarter of a century to unravel (see Desaguliers' Code).
