Verly little comment on UGL of NSW & ACT site, was expecting more, but looks like they don't want to know, or more to the point , step on any toes

"He didn't have much to say about the topic but he managed to throw in a gratuitous and off-topic swipe at this forum"
I thought posting off topic and criticizing other forums was not allowed there.

I thought posting off topic and criticizing other forums was not allowed there. Theoretically.

Finally some action from GL, what was posted was not what they intended, apparently they don't want us to be discussing other orders etc in lodge meeting, craft meetings and FB etc, and they have been overun with bros contacting them

Even so, I am glad to see the outraged response has led to some back-peddling and I await the outcome of the next Quarterly Communication, where I understand some significant questions are to be raised concerning this fiasco.

Can't say too much, but it appears that this edict came about because of something at Tamworth, my home town, and I do give some talks and lectures up this way

V. W. Fr. TerryThanks for your valuable contribution to last night's impromptu discussion on the matter. I especially liked your point, which I have taken the liberty of copying from your post on the GL forum:

The Education Dilemma — Live with it!What facts, theory or doctrine does the Grand Lodge expect the Committee on Masonic Information to inculcate? The Grand Lodge has not said. Obviously, it is not to teach what is in the ritual, for that is already thoroughly taken care of. What is the Grand Lodge's authorized and approved version of the history of Freemasonry? It has none, except what is found in the ritual. What is the Grand Lodge's interpretation of the symbolism of Freemasonry? It hasn't any, except the ritual. What is the doctrine of the Grand Lodge about the philosophy, religion, or principles of Freemasonry? Obviously nothing, except what is already taught in the ritual. Therefore, if your committee circulates any information at all, it must be in addition to, subtraction from, or modification of the only authorized doctrine of Grand Lodge, viz., the ritual. Hence, we have the anomaly of a Committee officially and solemnly authorized to disseminate unauthorized materials. California Grand Lodge Proceedings for 1947. Page 206. in George H. Steinmetz, The Lost Word Its Hidden Meaning, 1953, Macoy Publishing and Masonic Supply Company, New York, pp. 10 & 11
