Hi all,
Have just finished watching the 2nd DVd and the presenter made what I think is an extrordinary claim, that civilisation began in the southern hemisphere, especially with "The Australian Aborigine " or to be precise " The Dreamtime " stories / myths, which he claims to be the foundation of language and the basis of the 3 degrees of masonry. He claims the spark of this civilisation was the cataylst for prehistric Britian.
Has anyone else come across this theory and what do you make of it

Hi Terry Thanks for that. A number of commentators have described correspondences between some masonic and some indigenous ceremonies. I have given a summary here, together with some of my own thoughts, under Australian Aboriginal Traditions. Mind you, the subject covers a huge diversity and a little bit of selectivity goes a long way in giving an overly strong impression. Could such commonalities arise from separate descriptions of the same phenomena, the human condition and our place in the universe? Could such ceremonies, together with language, dance and music, be part of our common human heritage which the Aborigines brought with them (or took with them, as proposed above)? Or could such people as Macassans or Chinese traders (or, as a remote possibility, Egyptians or Phoenicians) have introduced these ceremonial elements?
