And yet the earth is actually and literally the mother of us all. One needs no strange spiritual faith to worship the earth

1967 - Che Guevara executed in Bolivia YAY! ;DI wouldn't go that far, but nor am I a fan. The naive, romantic rebel image hid his dark side, which was expressed in retributions following the Cuban Revolution.

He was a savage murderer of unarmed, innocent civilians. He also was an incompatant military commander. His legend is much greater than his real life accomplishments. That millions of naive young people wear his image today on T-shirts is sickening. Reading articles written by those who lived through the Cuban revolution, his and Castro's rise to power was mostly accomplished due to a comedy of errors on the part of the Cuban government and a large dose of pure luck.

Well, he's dead and I was no fan. Indeed, I would have liked to see him face a war crimes tribunal but then, even more, I would have liked to see Pinochet and others front one, for all the corruption, tortures, rapes and thousands of "disappearances" in Chile, following the overthrow of Dr. Allende's legitimate government.

Indeed. As to revolutions, often that which follows is as bad or worse than that which was replaced. Not all turn out as benign as did the American revolution.

Indeed. As to revolutions, often that which follows is as bad or worse than that which was replaced. Not all turn out as benign as did the American revolution. As Bro. Simón Bolívar said, as the old corruptions reappeared following his revolution, "Those who have served the cause of the revolution have plowed the sea."
